Clean Eating Recipe Round Up [Whole30, Paleo, Etc.]

If you don’t follow me on Instagram (you should, we have lots of fun), then you wouldn’t know that the Huz and I are currently neck deep in Whole30. Well, actually, what we’re doing is called the Journey, a clean eating challenge through local personal training company Body Bayou. We’re finding it’s better for us than Whole30 for a multitude of reasons, the top one being that the Journey includes constant communication and support from its creators. That means we can be standing in the grocery store, unsure if something is on the program, shoot them a text, and know for sure before we check out. It also means I can text them at 9 pm after a rough day and say I want to give up, and they can remind me of all the reasons not to.

Two weeks in I’ve lost 10 pounds and Huz has lost 13, so…I’d say it’s effective.

I’ve been posting on social a lot about my favorite Whole30 approved foods I’ve found and made, and in turn am getting a solid amount of recipe requests. The Instagram poll I ran showed pretty much all of my friends are down for a recipe round up, so here it is. Breakfast, snacks, dinners, & desserts! I’ve made every single one of these and they are completely Guichet approved 👌🏼 (Note: honey is allowed on the Journey, & not on Whole30. Many of these recipes contain honey.)

BREAKFAST

Paleo Apple Maple Muffins from Texan Erin

Almond Flour Pancakes from the Roasted Root

Avocado Egg Salad from @k8_smallthings: one avocado, two hard boiled eggs smashed together & topped with Trader Joe’s Everything but the Bagel seasoning. So good for those mornings where you want something savory.

SNACKS

I’m a mom, so simple and quick is the name of the game when it comes to snacks. You won’t find any super involved snacks here, but they are delicious because ya girl likes to eat.

RxBar Real Food Protein Bars
These are pretty much carrying me through this 30 day journey. They’re so good and so easy to grab and run. This link takes you to an order of a 16 variety pack. (PS the chocolate sea salt tastes like actual brownie)

Proscuitto wrapped apples. Simple, delicious, and makes you feel fancy while a kid whines at your feet.

Pan Fried Bananas from Coconuts & Kettlebells
This also doubles as a great dessert! And it’s super quick and easy. A definite household staple for us, it defeats the 4 PM sugar craving with ease.

DINNER

See previous “I’m a mom” disclaimer. All of these are mucho delicious but also not super involved 🙌🏻

Pot Roast from I Breathe I’m Hungry

Cauliflower Fried Rice (that tastes like legit fried rice) from Jays Baking Me Crazy

This steak marinade from Real Simple Good

Make this ranch seasoning mix from the Pinning Mama in bulk and put it on all the things: chicken, sweet potatoes, lick it out the bowl, whatever.

Mexican stuffed sweet potatoes from 40 Aprons
(Also, learn how to stuff all the things into sweet potatoes. Steak, pulled pork, chicken, pile toppings on it and call it a dinner.)

Pizza Spaghetti Pie from PaleOMG
(Oh man, y’all. This one is so good. It somehow tastes like there’s actual cheese in it. This recipe is a little extensive, probably the most time involved of all the ones listed here, but worth it.)

DESSERTS

AKA survival. Seriously. If I couldn’t qualm my sweet tooth I wouldn’t make it.

The Holy Grail, alternately titled Fudgy Paleo Brownies from Joy Food Sunshine
I could wax poetic about these beautiful brownies for an entire blog post, but instead I’ll tell you that my husband and I almost cried the first time I made it. Just omit the coconut sugar and chocolate chips, we add in unsweetened coconut flakes

Twix. Fricking. Bars. Yeah. From Bakerita

Peppermint Hot Chocolate from Body Bayou
Remember when it was cold in Louisiana for approximate 2 seconds? I made this like 100 times during that and it was so. stinking. good.

Alright. That’s the round up! I hope you found some things here to help you make some good eating choices.

These look awesome. I feel like I get in a rut and start making the same things over and over. I appreciate some new whole/paleo recipes to try out. And girl….I hate coconut sugar.
