I’ve been writing for as long as I can remember. First in fill-in-the-blank journals, then in the ones with locks, until I found my true paper love – hard backed, college lined notebooks. In the online age, writing moved to MySpace & Livejournal (holla), and thank goodness blogs and discretion came around for me before things got too ugly.
I wrote for a long time real life stuff, boys, whatever God was teaching me, about dreams of catching a plane to NYC to be a writer (on SNL, preferably). I wrote about weddings and events and my love of planning them, which would eventually turn into an actual business, Guichet Creative. Then I started writing about this guy I had met at my college church, that I was relatively certain was, well, “the one”.
We met in a church community group in 2010, started dating in 2011 (I shelved my New York aspirations not long after this. I was hooked after our first date), we were engaged by May of 2012 – and married that October. We welcomed a beautiful, healthy baby girl the month before our 2 year anniversary, Pacey Claire (named for one of her mama’s all-time favorite TV show characters, Dawson Creek’s Pacey Witter), and then another equally beautiful, healthy baby sister in April of 2017. We’ve packed a whole lot of life into the years the Lord has given us, and we have lots of big plans for the ones to come.
So now I use this place as my outlet for the things the Lord teaches me or things I just need to talk about. I really love using the space to empower women however the Lord equips me. Sometimes I write a lot, and sometimes this blog is very neglected. My hope and prayer is that those who find themselves here leave more inspired or just generally happier than when they stumbled upon it.
