Y’all. This wedding. I’m not even sure where to start. The genuine love that just flowed from all these people covered this wedding in a beauty that is indescribable. The bride may be one of the most joyful and hilarious people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. And the love in her husband’s eyes every time he looked at her had me melting the entire weekend.
Katie spent most of her planning period in Arkansas, so all of our consultations were over Skype and email, but from that first email communication I knew I was going to adore her (& her wedding). Held at her parents’ lake house in Boyce, LA, with hay bales for ceremony seating and a moss laden arch for a backdrop, the simplicity of it all really held the focus where Alex and Katie intended it to be – the beginning of a covenant with Jesus to love each other forever. Katie did the decorations on her own, and her vision (as you can see below) was completely swoon-worthy.
The bride quoted Friends during her self-written vows (a love based on giving and receiving, as well as having and sharing) and I almost lost it in the back by myself. Their first dance broke into Eye to Eye from a Goofy movie. And if that doesn’t make you love the two of them, they left their reception on a boat under a shower of fireworks. Yeah.
